May I please introduce you to my darling friend Eryn?  She's one of those gems who doesn't know how great she is.  She's all about encouraging women to be more healthy both spiritually and physically.  In this interview she shares with us a journey she hasn't talked about much; her nearly decade-long battle with anorexia.  Listen, if you're like me and don't have an eating disorder, I bet you still have an issue (or seven) with food.  Regardless, I know you'll get a lot out of this chat.  I certainly did.

What we chat about:

  • The one word she needed for her new tattoo
  • Her journey toward heath
  • How she deals with her tendency to want to over-protect her kids
  • Her cute new boots!

For the mom who longs to see long-dead dreams resurrected...

For the mom who is learning to replace lies about herself with Truth from God's word...

For the mom who wants to run a half-marathon purely so she can eat more McDonalds...

If any of these describe you, you're going to love my chat with my friend Kathy! Can't wait to share our conversation with you.

Go ahead and share the show with your mom friends who would benefit from it.  Let them know they are not alone in the struggle!  Head to Momstrugglingwell.com for the show notes from this episode!

For the mom who wants to mourn well with hurting friends...

For the mom who isn't good at cooking and cleaning...

For the mom who is afraid of wind chimes...

Victoria and I had such a great time talking about all manner of things.  She is a work at home mom who is into writing, being a doula and at this point, sneaking as much sleep in as possible as a mom of two very young kids. Hope you love the interview!

One of the things that first drew me to Becki was the awesome pictures of her house that I kept seeing on Instagram.  She has this funky, cozy, artistic house that makes you want to have a mug of tea and chat all day in.  The NEXT (and way more important thing) that made me need to talk to this girl is the way she talks about grace and praying for her children.

What we talk about:

  • (We actually forgot to talk about this but you need to know about) Her small business
  • How to wisely play to your strengths in parenting
  • The Cha-Cha dance of raising teenagers
  • What she needs her kids to know before they move out

All I can say is I'm so THANKFUL God made such a wide variety of people.  If we were all the same we'd all be bored to tears.  My friend Kristen Kill is a breath of fresh air to me for a variety of reasons one of which is that we are so different.  She has a freedom and grace about her and I could only dream of.  I could talk to her all day long and learn completely new ways of doing things.  The OTHER reason she's so special to me is her deep understanding of truth and God's character.  She's a gem and I'm thrilled to share her with you.

What we chat about:

  • obedience and what we need to do to get a "well done" at the end of our days
  • the idea and importance of Legacy
  • the importance of cultivating our souls and those of our children
  • The Hidden Art by Edith Schaffer

Some topics in life are just difficult to talk about.  I would say human trafficking is definitely one of them. It is an issue that is dear to my heart but in all the conversations and sermons I've heard on the topic, I haven't heard someone speak with as much hope and compassion as Corinne.

The other amazing piece of this puzzle is the extraordinary way God has prepared their family to go.  They have been having unreal experiences with people in their own town all related to the same topic.  You wouldn't believe it if I told you so you might as well just listen.

What we cover:

// Exodus Road and their counter-trafficking work

// How Easter may NOT be the best time to tell your kids they are moving to Asia

// The hard/good road of trusting God to provide in lean times

// God's ability to use our regular jobs to accomplish remarkable things

Hey friends!  Today I am happy to bring you the story of my friend Brooke!  She and her husband live in Poland and work to rescue the forgotten populations of society.  What I love about her story is that she wasn't that excited to get involved with it at first.  Sometimes we think people who do amazing things are different than us in that theyalways like serving others.  Her story is proof that God can use us even if we aren't 100% excited at first.

What we discuss:

  • how one cup of tea turned into a foundation to rescue the forgotten
  • the road to building a family (that is sometimes rocky and heartbreaking)
  • an unbelievable story about how her baby almost died in a foreign hospital
  • the importance of surrender

In this episode we talk about how to use your interests as a bridge for discussing spiritual topics with your kids.  We also talk about how sometimes in 2015 it can still be impossible to obtain the internet even when living in a very populated location.

The reason I needed to share Amanda with you NOW is because of her wonderful Christmas ebook that takes you through how to share the Christmas story with your kids in a way they will love.  I am not a big fan of all the crafts and all the mess that creates but even I found it to be very fun and enjoyable so we go through her book every year.

Episode 8 here and I'm talking with my friend Kris Camealy.  She is a wife, mother of 4, a writer, speaker and the founder of Grace Table. In other words, she's got a lot going on!

In this interview we chat about

  • the struggle against transferring our fears onto our kids
  • how God intervened in Kris' life through an elementary school teacher
  • how she cultivates a daily habit of listening to God

If you listen to podcasts, you know who Kat Lee is.  She is a mom who is passionate about motherhood and encouraging other moms.  She has made it her business to build a wealth of resources to equip moms like you to do this huge job well. The goal is an impressive eulogy over an impressive resume. Focus on what matters forever.

In this episode we chat about:

  • how to be a "jello wall" for your kids emotions
  • sanity pointers from a road trip expert
  • how personality tests can improve your parenting

Crystal is a coffee-loving, word girl who is big on helping women find community.  She is passionate about encouraging and equipping women to enjoy their current season and chase what brings them joy.  Most recently, she's been on a fitness journey that is changing her mothering.  Can't wait for you to hear our chat!

In this episode we discuss the painful effects of hurtful relationships, the importance of engaging in community despite past hurts, and how Crystal stopped being a 'sideline mom.'

Please allow me to introduce you to my friend Joanna.  There are SO many reasons I needed you to meet this girl.  First, her "little skill of sewing" as she calls it, is not little.  It is actually making a huge impact in her town and around the world. Second, she has overcome some poor choices in her own life (we all make them!) and has witnessed first hand God's amazing promise to work all things out for good. You wouldn't believe the story if I told you so you might as well hear it from her.

In our chat we cover how single parenting is hard and how waiting for your adoptive child is hard too!  We talk about her new job with Project Free 2 Fly and her work with No. 41.

Today's guest is my friend Sarah of Sariko Designs.  She is a creative girl with lots of initiative.  She started an Etsy shop to raise funds in order to adopt two kids from the foster care system.  She kinds makes the rest of us look like slackers.

I like to think I have played a part in her success (I didn't) because I have quite the collection of her signs around my house.  And I give them as gifts.  I basically have a sign buying problem.  This is precisely why Sarah likes me and agreed to be interviewed.

In this episode we talk about preparing kids for an expanding family, how to start an Etsy shop, maternal instincts and adopted kids and Bravelove.com.

I just had to share my sweet friend, Lara Williams with you all. She is a wife, a mom, an author and a speaker.  What I love about her is that she does all of these things with grace and humility.  She will be the first to tell you that she messes up all the time which allows the rest of us to exhale and know we're in good company.

This girl right here: she's a joy! I can see why she was a cheerleader in high school because every time I finish talking to her I'm pretty sure I can do anything.  {Emily, Emily, she's our man, if she can't do it , no one can.} In this episode we talk about everything from encouraging your neighbors and discipleship to the importance of the therapeutic Slurpee and the Fall issue of Southern Living.

Warning: You will probably feel some feelings here. This podcast covers a topic we as moms would rather just not think about- the loss of a child.  Wait though!  Before you decide to move on to watching I Love Lucy re-runs, I assure you this story is worth a listen!  My friend Bree walked through the valley but she has a story of hope you NEED to hear.
